Congratulations to Paul MacLean and Collette Smith on their wedding

Rota October, 25th – October 26th

In Hospital

We remember Ken Jones in our prayers at mass this weekend, as Ken is in the Belford Hospital and has been quite unwell recently. We pray that his condition may improve and the he will soon be back home again feeling much better. It is a particularly anxious time for Tina, as she and Ken  have had so much sorrow and grief to bear these past few months with the death of their daughter, Janet, after a long illness. May God bless and support them at this difficult time.

Maintenance of our Churches

Recently, the exterior of St. Joseph's was painted and is looking very smart now, and is well coated for the winter weather. St. Finnan’s exterior was also painted during the week, and it is also looking very smart and will catch the eye of all the passers-bye. It is five years since it was last painted, so it was due to be repainted and prepare it for the winter weather as Invergarry usually gets much more snow and frost than Roy Bridge.

There are slates missing on the tower of St. Margaret's, causing some damp to enter the church,  and we hope to have this attended to before the worst of the winter. It will require scaffolding.

The grounds at Roy Bridge and Spean Bridge are all beautifully maintained which gives our churches the dignity they deserve.

We offer our sincere congratulations to Paul MacLean and his bride Collette Smith who were married by Deacon Anthony Hunt, a cousin of Paul’s, in St. Margaret's on Saturday, October 18th,  and we wish the young couple  every blessing and happiness in their new life together. Paul and Collette are teachers in Fort William primary schools, so they will both have  much in common. The best man was Bruno Berardelli and the bridesmaid Elaine Logo, a cousin of Collette’s, who has come all the way from Ontario, Canada, for the wedding, with her lovely five-year old  daughter, Emma, who was one of the flower girls.

Paul has a very good reason for wishing to be married in Roy Bridge, for he was baptised in St. Margaret's, his parents were married in St. Margaret’s, as also were his grandparents and  possibly his great-grand parents were married at Chapel Brae,  so that is indeed a long line connecting his family to St. Margaret’s  and Roy Bridge. We hope Paul  and Collette will continue this connection in the future.  God bless them with every happiness
