Ordination to the Deaconate of David Connor
One of our students for the diocese, David Connor from Dunoon, who is a late vocation, will be ordained a deacon in St. Patrick’s
Seminary. Maynouth. Co, Kildare, by Bishop Toal this Sunday. David had been studying at Scotus College, Glasgow, which closed
last year, and our bishop sent him to Maynouth, outside of Dublin, to complete his studies. He will be ordained with several other
young men as deacons, and it is encouraging to know that vocations to the priesthood are increasing. David is coming to help out in
Fort William during the summer months, and I have invited him to come to Roy Bridge and spend a weekend with us. I will say the
11.30 a.m. mass for him this Sunday that God may bless him and help him prepare for his ordination to the priesthood in Oban next
summer. David is in his 30s, and I believe a very good musician, which is an added advantage.
Passport numbers for the Canonisation.
The Sisters have sent all the passport numbers to the Travel Agent in Sydney who are in charge of those attending the canonisation. If
you have not yet given your passport number, please let me know and it can be sent by email to Sydney.
In Hospital
We remember in our prayers this weekend, Neil Parish, Spean Bridge, who had surgery during the week in the Belford and,
thankfully, is making good progress, for which his wife, Sally, is so grateful. Neil is a very good friend to St. Joseph’s, and looks after
the grounds. We will keep him in our prayers for a complete recovery.
