Social Committee Meeting Next Sunday
Weather permitting, there will be a meeting of the Social
Committee next Sunday in the Chapel House at 7 p.m. to make
arrangements for the Burns Supper, Anyone willing to help is
welcome to come along and join us
Justice and Peace Collection
Next weekend there will be a collection for Justice and Peace.
This will go towards the organising committee in Glasgow, who,
along with other groups throughout the world, seek to establish
peace through discussion and compromise rather than war.
Bishop Toal’s visit to New Zealand and
Australia, Jan. 4th
Bishop Toal is now the Scottish Hierarchy’s representative on the
ICEL committee for the new translation of English in the mass.
The committee meets in various countries and this time it is New
Zealand.
He will return via Sydney and visit Blessed Mary’s Sisters, and,
no doubt, receive a great welcome, especially since he is a
relation of Blessed Mary. Perhaps while he is there a date may be
set for Blessed Mary’s canonisation.
Ann McKeon, formerly, MacNeil, from Fort William, lives only
ten minutes from the airport and will meet the Bishop, He will
stay with a very good friend of Anne, and of this parish, Bishop
David Cremin.
Deirdre Mac Donald and her friend Iona stayed with Ann when
they were in Australia for the World Youth Rally two years ago,
The Church’s liturgical season for Christmas ends next weekend,
so the Crib and trees will be dismantled this week and stored
away safely until next year.
My very sincere thanks to Charlie Toal for all his hard work in
taking care of this.
Next Holy Hour is on the feast of St. Kentigern, Wed. January
13th, fellow missioner of St. Columba
