Renewal of 100 club subscriptions
his lovely winter
scene of St.
Margaret’s, which
appeared in the
February edition of
The Braes, is a reminder of the
beautiful, but bitterly cold,
weather we have been
experiencing over the past few
weeks. However, thanks to the
100 Club, the weather outside
may have been freezing, but
inside our churches have been
wonderfully warm.
Parishioners found it a
pleasure arriving at mass to
find the church so
comfortable. It is all thanks to
the members of the 100 Club
who faithfully subscribe each
year to ensure that our
churches are well heated,
irrespective of the weather.
February is the month when subscriptions are to be renewed, and we would be grateful if our members could do this as soon as
possible to keep a healthy balance in the 100 Club bank account.
The subscription still remains at £13 despite the rise in the price of oil
Envelopes are available at the back of the church, so please obtain one and return it either by putting in the collection basket or
handing it at the sacristy. Thank you sincerely in advance.
We replaced the old burner in St. Margaret’s during the summer months at a cost of £600, and we find that the new one is much more
efficient—cheaper to run and heats the church more quickly.
St Joseph’s is equally well heated since the addition of two blowers, which were installed last year.
I am grateful to David MacFarlane who takes care of the heating and ensures that the church is
always now nice and warm. The insulation in the new roof is a great success, and helps considerably in retaining the heat and
keeping the cold out.
My sincere thanks to you all for your support!
