Just before going to print, I was told of the sudden death of Ewen MacDonald, The Cottages, High Bridge.
Ewen contacted me last November and asked me to call to see him at his home. He was 83 years of age, and his health was
not particularly robust as he had cardiac problems. I brought him holy communion on several occasions, and he received all
the sacraments because of his condition. My most recent visit was last week when I brought him holy communion. He has a
married daughter in Clarkston, who visited him frequently, and a daughter in Mull. His requiem mass will take place some
time next week, and he will be laid to rest at Kilmonivaig cemetery where he has a baby daughter buried.
Ewen’s very good friend and neighbour was Ewen MacLennan, the undertaker, and Ewen will let me know when a day for
the funeral has been decided, and I will announce it in church. It would be nice if a number could join us for the requiem
mass as Ewen was not all that well known in the area.
