Recently, the Lochaber News covered the installation of the new wood chip heating system at Inverlochy Primary School by Highland Wood
Energy Ltd of which Bruno Berardelli is a director.
We are delighted that one our young enterprising parishioners is the founder of this new company, and that its success is becoming very obvious by
the amount of orders the company has received from all over Scotland to install their new wood heating system. The staff and pupils of Inverlochy
school are very pleased that their central heating is now more environmentally friendly, as they had been involved in an eco art project to try to
make a direct impact on saving the planet. The old oil-fired system has now been converted by Highland Wood Energy Ltd to use locally sourced
wood chips.
At the opening, Bruno Berardelli said: “We are delighted to have carried out the design and installation of the wood chip heating system. It has
been a great school to work with, and the staff and pupils have been right behind the conversion from oil-fired to a more sustainable form of
heating. The wood heating system will reduce heating bills at the school by approximately 40 per cent and the C02 emissions by around d 80
tonnes per annum, demonstrating that the Highland Council is being pro-active in carbon reduction targets. The fuel is sourced locally ensuring a
positive benefit to the local economy”
Highland Wood Energy Ltd has an excellent web site that gives detailed and colourful illustrations of the variety of burners they can provide -
wood log, chip and pellet heating systems for all types of premises, from domestic to commercial. Their comprehensive range of services provides
customers with complete solutions, from feasibility and design stage through to installation and operation.
We wish Bruno and his new company every blessing and success for the future. In a world where oil and gas are becoming ever more restrictive
because of increasing costs, more business and homes may decide to convert to this new and economic form of heating.
We look forward in the near future to the opening of Highland Wood Energy’s new show room at Aonach Mor which we hope will create an even
greater interest in wood chip heating.
