Congratulations to Tony and Margaret on their Ruby Wedding
We offer our sincere congratulations and good wishes to Tony and Margaret Sargent on their 40th wedding anniversary, and wish them continued
health and happiness and every blessing for the future.
Tony and Margaret came to Lochaber from Blackburn with three children 35 years ago, and 32 of these  years have been spent here in Roy Bridge.
Tony was appointment maths teacher at Lochaber High, during which time  Margaret cared for the children. When they moved to Roy Bridge,
Margaret was able to resume her  profession as a primary school teacher.  When Margaret retired a year ago, she could look back with pride on the
influence and impact she had on primary education in Roy Bridge, and on all the pupils she had put through her hands. Her dedicated work was
recognised by the parents and youths of the village and many of her former pupils, some  who travelled a long distance to be present,  at a
wonderful evening held in her honour in Roy Bridge Hall. We are particularly grateful to Tony for his involvement in the parish and for all support
he gives to the church, and to Margaret for her years of loyalty as our organist, playing at Sunday mass, marriages and funerals.
They now have the added joy of having their daughter and her husband and their grandchild living close by in Spean Bridge.
The above happy photograph was taken at the evening in honour of Margaret’s retirement.
