St. Joseph’s Roof Refurbishment
Work progressing on the roof of St. Joseph’s
Roddy Campbell’s men made great progress in stripping the roof and preparing it for the workmen who will complete
the contract by re-roofing the church with the latest Decra aluminium tiles. The block board under the copper had
gone into a mush, and the wool insulation was waterlogged.  Thankfully, there was no rot in the main timbers of the
roof, which allowed the work to progress without any delays.
Because of the triangular shape of the church, it is a difficult job to cut the tiles to fit in with the  contour of the roof,
but the work should be completed by next week.  The weather could not have been worse!  However, the interior of
the church is quite dry.
