Young parishioners excel themselves
Young Quality Scot
Congratulations to Michelle Wardlaw who has received one of this year’s Young Quality Scot Awards. The Awards are presented annually by Quality Scotland in association with councils across Scotland and recognise and reward young volunteers.
Earlier this session, Michelle, who is 6R in Lochaber High School, organised a Fashion Show and other fund raising in the school for Breast Cancer Care, which raised an amazing £1,430 in one evening. It took a lot of organisation arranging for clothes and models, and to her credit many of the boys took part. The headmaster was absolutely delighted by Michelle’s initiative and also for enhancing the reputation of the school for the part it plays in helping local and national charities.
Congratulations to the Rose Sisters
Helena and Francesca who were prize winners at the recent Lochaber Music Festival.
Helena was winner in the Primary Advanced violin/viola competition and also a member of the Lochaber Youth Choir.
Have we a future Nicola Benadetti here? She is also a very proficient self-taught Clarsach player, although she is now receiving lessons
Francesca was winner of the Lochaber Music School Primary Trophy and Cello/Double Bass (Primary) Elementary prize.
Although so young, she is a swift learner and must be one of Audrey Scott’s star pupils.
Both Helena and Francesca have a bright musical future ahead of them!
They are also very good mass servers.
