Bishop Moran and Iain Mathieson outside the old cottage that belonged to Iain’s grand uncle, Sandy Mathieson, and served as a kitchen for the
students in the old college. This has recently been acquired by the Church, and was one of the reasons for the celebration last Tuesday, June 2nd.
Sandy brought up a very large family in the small cottage, and life must have been difficult in the winter as the Braes of Glenlivet were infamous
for the blizzards that cut people off for weeks at a time.
The photograph of Bishop Moran and Iain is very appropriate for one of Bishop Moran’s predecessor, the late Bishop Mathieson, was a close
relative of Iain’s family. Glenlivet is certainly Mathieson country!
