We pray for those whose anniversaries are at this time.
Michael Toal, Spean Bridge, for whom the Vigil mass will be
said on Saturday.
Patrick Toal, our bishop’s father, whose anniversary is on
Monday, and for whom mass will be said this Sunday at 11.30
a.m.
John MacInnes, Achluachrach, for whom mass will be said on
Wednesday evening.
These souls will also be remembered with all the other souls at
mass at Cille Choirill on Sunday afternoon.
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord
St. Joseph, the Worker - Friday May 1st
God chose St. Joseph, the husband of Mary, to be the foster father
of his Son, Jesus.
Joseph provided for Mary and the child by his work. The word in
bible for carpenter also infers that the person is good at doing
most things.
Jesus must have spent much of his childhood with Joseph in his
workshop, and gradually learned the trade. As he became older,
Our Lord would have contributed to the household by his work.
When Joseph died, Jesus would have continued providing for his
mother by his work as a carpenter until he began his public mission
to bring salvation to the world.
Jesus shows us that work is a sacred means of providing for the
home and family. We pray for those made redundant by the present
financial crises.
