The first mass at Cille Choirill for this year will be next Sunday at
3 p.m. I would be grateful if parishioners would let relations and
friends living at a distance know about the service, as many like to
attend the mass at Cille Choirill and pray for their loved ones who
lie at rest in the cemetery.
Anniversaries—and sympathy
We remember in our prayers this weekend Joe Campbell whose
anniversary was on Friday, and for whom the Vigil Mass was
said on Saturday evening. May it bring Etta comfort and
assurance that her loved one now shares in the resurrection.
Also Chrissie MacKenzie, mother of Frank, for whom the 11.30
a.m. mass will be said this Sunday on her anniversary.
We also remember Maureen MacLean, wife of Angus MacLean,
who died after a terminal illness. Maureen and Angus were
frequent visitors to Roy Bridge as Angus is a cousin of Anne
MacKintosh, and a nephew of the late Canon MacLean of
Dunoon. Maureen’s funeral was on Friday, and mass was said for
her in St. Margaret’s on Friday morning to join our prayers with
the family and her loved ones at St. Ninian’s, Knightswood that
God may grant them comfort and peace. We send Angus and his
family our deepest sympathy
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord
I would like to thank Anne Marie Wardlaw, her family and
helpers for all work they did in providing a very attractive
repository stall for the parish. The stall will move next weekend
to St. Joseph’s to give parishioners in Spean Bridge an
opportunity of purchasing some religious items for their homes.
We will keep a small amount of articles permanently on display,
and there will always be a selection of mass cards, and cards for
other occasion in both churches. Should anyone wish a particular
item, please contact Anne Marie or Fr. Tom.
A considerable sum was also raised for Mary’s Meals, and we
should have the total for next weekend.
Robbie Fraser, South Laggan
Robbie was unwell again recently, and was taken to Raigmore
Hospital and later flown down to Yorkhill Hospital, Glasgow. His
mother, Maria, keeps in touch regularly to pass on Robbie’s
progress to our parishioners, and we thank God he is improving
from his serious chest infection. I have promised Maria that Robbie
will be prayed for very specially at all our weekend and daily
masses that his progress may continue.
He is a lovely little boy, and is surrounded by so much love and
affection.
My niece, Gillian Crook, who took seriously ill on Palm Sunday
weekend, has made an almost miraculous recovery. The efforts of
the 24/7 teamwork of doctors and nurses to save her life in the high
dependency unit at Raigmore was magnificent, and the family
cannot thank them sufficiently for their dedication and incredible
skill. I also wish to thank everyone for their prayers which also
contributed to her progress.
If you still have Lenten boxes at home, perhaps you could return
them by next weekend.
