May the spirit and new life of Easter inspire us to be part of this continuing work and presence of Christ by spreading his kingdom of
love, truth, peace and justice on this earth. St. Paul could say in all humility: I live now no longer, but Christ lives in me. May we carry
the joy and newness of Eastertide into the future and help to make Christ alive wherever we may be.
Our Lord taught us that it is in humbly serving one another that his presence can be found. The scene at the Last Supper of Our Lord
washing the feet of his disciples is an example to us all of the brotherly and sisterly love that our Lord expects of his followers.
When Peter objected to Our Lord lowering his dignity to wash his feet, the reply he received was:  unless you allow me to do this you
can have no part with me. Humility is the at the very centre of true holiness for it recognises the value of our own worth and the
privilege we have of allowing God to serve others through us. Above all, we find the depth of God’s humility in the Eucharist—at mass
and holy communion where his abiding presence is so readily available to us in the sacrament of his love
