Welcome to Mark and Clare and Chloe Margaret
Mark and Clare Reynolds, with their daughter, Chloe Margaret, came back Roy Bridge to set up home while I was
convalescing, and this is the first opportunity I have had to welcome them to the parish, and it is a great joy to have
them in the  parish. Equally delighted are Clare’s parent’s. Tony and Margaret Sargent. Mark and Clare had been
living in Belgium for several years as Mark, who is a professional tuba player, was a member of the Royal
Philharmonic Orchestra of Flanders. Previous to that, he played with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra and the
World Youth Orchestra. As a student. he studied the tuba at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music in Glasgow and
did a postgraduate course in Munich, Germany. Mark has n ow been appointed brass and woodwind instructor for
Lochaber High School and associated primary schools, and the area is so fortunate in having such a highly
professional musician to teach the children. Clare, of course, is a very fine cellist, and was teaching music therapy
to children in Brussels. Perhaps he4r skill can be made use of in Lochaber. At the moment, they are living
temporarily in Spean Bridge until they can purchase their own home—which we all hope finally will be in Roy
Bridge! We wish them every blessing and happiness for the future, and it will be a delight to watch Chloe Margaret
growing up in to a fine young girl.
