Mary’s Meals Buffet Night on Saturday, November 8th.
Come along, enjoy an evening of fun and help us to help starving children.
We need as many prizes as we can get for the Wheel of Fortune. These can be handed in at the Chapel House or at the hall on Saturday evening. Do come along and help to make our fund-raising evening something very special for MARY’S MEALS!
Church Tower
Roddy Campbell’s firm has taken great patience over the past months searching for the cause of the leaks in St. Margaret’s church tower, and he himself has been very much involved. His patience and diligence have finally brought success after years of problems.
Although the sandstone pointing looked satisfactory, it was in fact leaking in places. There was also problems with the slates and lead work. These have all been attended to and Roddy personally applied a very special spray as an extra precaution. He left the scaffolding in place for a considerable time hoping for gale force winds to test the work that had been done, and he certainly had his request granted last week with force 9 gales!
Not a drop of water leaked from the tower into the porch, so, please God, we will have a dry porch for many years to come.
We are grateful to the firm for all the time and care it has taken attempting to solve this perennial problem which has bothered the parish for many, many  years and also affected the plaster at the back of the church with  damp that seeped through the stonework.
Sympathy.
The sudden death of Lorna O’Donnell, Caol, came as a great shock to all her family and friends. To her husband Daniel, and her sons and daughters, and the extended family, we offer our sincere sympathy. Her funeral took place from  St. John’s on Saturday.  Mass will be said for her here in Roy Bridge at a time suitable to the family. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord.
