Bill Priest—a great friend of the Parish Bulletin!
Bill, who lives at Bunlossit, has been of immense help to me over the years in assuring that the parish Bulletin is produced faithfully each week. He is a computer genius, although he will not admit it, and self-taught at that!
So often, and usually at the last minute, things go wrong with the computer, and I cannot possibly resolve them myself. It only takes a phone call to Bill, and he never refuses to offer his expertise. As soon as he hears my voice on the phone nowadays, his immediate response is: “What’s the problem this time?”
Our young people.
Helena Rose was the winner of this year’s Lochaber Rotary Club’s Young Musician of the Year. She was invited to the Rotary Lunch on Wednesday, and afterwards gave a violin recital, accompanied at the piano by her father, Peter.
She received a prize of £25.
Martin Skene was also present as winner of the Senior Young Musician of the Year.
Helena also came third in a competition for all the Lochaber schools to design a special poster for the Scottish Six Days Motorbike Trials
Mary’s Meals
Recently, Faith, Dawn and Grace MacIntosh had a stall at the Rural Complex and raised over £70 for Mary’s Meals. Well done, girls!

On occasions there have been major problems when I thought that there would be no Bulletin that week, but Bill, in his quiet, humorous way, sits down, assesses the situation, presses various keys and things come up on the screen that I never knew were in the computer, and then you hear the magic words: “There’s the trouble!” Thankfully, he has never failed to solve any problem - some of them of my own making! It is good to know that the Bulletin has a friend whenever help is needed.
Each Saturday, Bill faithfully puts the Bulletin on the Internet, which allows it
to be read anywhere in the world. In fact, some former parishioners in Canada and
Australia can read it before it is distributed to our own parishioners on a Saturday
evening at the vigil mass!
It demands a lot of time and skill to rearrange the Bulletin
for the Internet I am very grateful to Bill for all that he does for the Bulletin,
and assuring that it appears every week in the parish—and world wide!
