Lewis Ross, Calum MacDonald, Lewis MacDonald, Bishop Iain, Anna Berardelli and Pippa MacDonald
We are grateful to Bishop Ian for coming to Roy Bridge last Wednesday evening, June 18th, to confirm five of our children. The children were well supported by their own families—parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins and many family friends. The Bishop spoke personally and kindly to the children, encouraging them to live daily with thd new gift of the Holy Spirit which they were to receive.
The children were excellent and remembered everything they were taught. They read out their Baptismal Vows and the Prayers of Intercession loud and clear—so we have good readers for the parish in the future!
I would like to thank the parents for all the co-operation that they gave during the past few months, and for dressing the children so nicely for the occasion A special thanks also to Margaret Sargent who prepared the children so well to receive the sacraments.
The children received their Confirmation certificate from the bishop and also a lovely cross, known as the Guatemala Cross, and rosary beads.
We were all invited to the hall afterwards, where the mothers provided a beautiful tea with tables laden with a large variety of the most mouth-watering cakes.
May God bless you all for your kindness, and we pray that our children will grow up strong with the gift of the Holy Spirit, and remain loyal and joyful in their faith throughout the whole of their lives.
