At a recent Lochaber High School fourth year assembly, the Fraser Cup was presented to Brennan MacDonald, Aonachan Gardens, Spean Bridge.
The cup, donated by Fraser's parents, Duncan and Rosemary MacPhee, is awarded annually to a young person whom the school have identified as being a worthy recipient of this honour.
Donald Maclean, the shinty team coach, commented: "Brennan has, throughout his school career, shown consistently high standards of commitment and self-motivation towards his participation in the school under-14 shinty team.
"He captained the team this session to winning and retaining the MacPherson Cup for the eighth season in a row.
"He has displayed an excellent attitude to all team members, and is particularly supportive of younger players.
"Brennan leads by example and attends training without fail. In a recent tournament, Brennan had to return to school to sit his maths exam but rushed back to captain the team in the semi-final and final.
"Brennan displays many of the best of sporting attributes which were displayed by Fraser MacPhee himself."
