Global warming in our churches !
The boiler in St. Joseph’s will have to be replaced as   it is no longer managing to heat the church properly.
Two small blowers have been added to the system, and once the new boiler is installed, the heating in St. Joseph’s will be as good as the heating in St. Margaret’s
Thanks to the 100 Club, our churches have been kept lovely and  warm throughout the  winter months, as the 100 Club pays for all the oil we use.

Roy Bridge School
With the news of  more houses to be built in Roy Bridge and Spean Bridge, it is very obvious that, even with the proposed new extension to Spean Bridge school, it will only absorb places available for its own pupils.

There seems considerable hope that Roy Bridge may yet be successful in retaining its own school.
The council's own figures which take into account "windfall" development in the Spean Bridge/Roy Bridge area, suggest that Spean Bridge school will already be over capacity by 2010 with a roll of 146 pupils, rising to a peak of 164 pupils in 2014-15.

The transport of children from Roy Bridge to Spean Bridge will  likely cost well over £26,000 per year.
Sandy Longmuir, chairman of the Scottish Rural Schools Network said: "We're please the council has made the right decision as regards deferment,  and it is good to see that a number of councillors are now looking much more seriously at the whole Roy Bridge closure decision."
According to the press, the day-to-day running costs of Spean Bridge’s PPP school is by far the greatest of all the schools in Highland Region.

Catholic Education—special collection
This will be taken up at all the masses after holy communion this weekend.  A fortnight later, we have our annual collection for SCIAF.
Please keep your boxes until the end of Lent, and then bring them back to church. It would be greatly appreciated if you could convert the coins in the box to notes or £1 coins to make it easier to count.

Station Mass
We will have Bishop Murray with us on Wednesday, March 5th, for a Station Mass at 7 p.m. at St. Margaret’s. We look forward to welcoming the bishop.

Furthest away supporters of the 100 Club
George and Ella Murray, Calgarry, Alberta, have very kindly sent their subscription for the 100 Club! Ella is a niece of the late Chrissie Kennedy, and keeps in touch with the parish through the Bulletin which she reads on the internet each week. I have written to George and Ella to thank them for their kindness and for their support of the parish.
