Welcome home our new Bishop on Tuesday
Mass at 7.30 p.m. followed by reception in the hall

We invite everyone in the parish to join us at the mass this Tuesday evening, and in the hall afterwards for a buffet and presentation to Bishop Toal.

Presentation of Vestment.   Before the mass, a new red vestment will be presented to the bishop by a parishioner as a gift from the parish. The mass is in honour of the Holy Spirit to ask him to guide our new bishop in his discerning office as shepherd of the flock.

There is still time if anyone has not yet managed to contribute to the parish presentation to Bishop Toal.. Envelopes should be handed in  at the very latest by Monday.

If you wish to help by preparing food or any other way, please contact Ishabel Campbell (712-343)and Ann MacKintosh (712-443)

Children Nativity Play and Blessing of the Crib  this Friday at 2 p.m. in St. Margaret’s
Everyone is invited to St. Margaret’s to support the children, who have practicing very hard for the play. Do come along and join us.
Four priests from St. Mary’s Deanery will hold a penitential service in St. Margaret’s this Thursday evening at 7 p.m. as an Advent preparation for Christmas.
The first part of the service will help us to examine our conscience and prepare  for confession.
Priests will be four areas of the church to hear confessions.
It is a wonderful opportunity if you have not been to confession for a while to get back into a routine where confession is an essential part of your spiritual devotions.
As well as receiving forgiveness for our sins, there is a special grace attached to the sacrament that helps us overcome the very failings that are most common in our lives.
All the saints used this sacrament regularly to advance in holiness.  It made them more sensitive to sin, and encouraged them to avoid anything displeasing to God. It is indeed a gateway to forgiveness and holiness.
We have only to keep in mind the parable Jesus told us about the love of the father for his prodigal son, and the joy and ease with which he was restored to his father and family again.
Please encourage as many in your family to come to this penitential service for it is a grace being offered to each person as a wonderful means to renew their resolution to serve and love God more faithfully.
