Feast of Blessed Mary MacKillop

Friday, August 8th

Mass will be said in honour of Blessed Mary on Friday, her feast day. The Australian hierarchy made her the patroness of the World Youth Day, and they have every reason to be thankful and proud at the tremendous success of Pope Benedict’s visit and the fact that  250,000 youths came

from all over the world to greet the Holy Father.

Our prayer on Friday will also be that the Church will soon include Blessed Mary among the saints, which also will be a great day for Roy Bridge,

We wish Sister Audrey and Sister Teresa a very happy feast day.

I arrived in Roy Bridge twelve years ago on the feast of Blessed Mary, and these have been twelve wonderful years for me because of your kindness, generosity and your cooperation in helping to the run the parish.  

Bulletin prepared early this week

As I was at Raigmore on Thursday and Friday, the Bulletin had to be ready for Wednesday afternoon so that I could send it to PrintSmith before I left. This meant that there was little time to gather any extra parish news. Back to normal next week.

The Bulletin will always be grateful if you wish to  pass on any news which you think may be of interest to our parishioners.
