Tom MacKintosh
Everyone is delighted that Tom is making such excellent progress and is now so much more mobile, He walked me to the ward door on Friday, and I had job to keep up with him! He has been allowed out at the weekends, and was present at the match between Lochaber and Kingussie. Despite Tom’s support, Kingussie just managed to beat Lochaber.
Tom has also visited Bohuntin to see his new calves, and has spent part of the day at home for the past two Sundays. We pray that it will not be long until Tom is finally allowed home for good.
He is grateful for the many visits of family and friends, for all the kindness he has received, and for the prayers that have been said for his recovery.
Baby Robbie Fraser, Invergarry, was transferred from Yorkhill to Raigmore last week, and is making excellent progress. His parents hope to have him home very shortly. He has spent the first six months of his life in hospital. The family are grateful for all our prayers which has given them great comfort.
Maureen McSherry continues to make good progress and managed to the baptism last Sunday.
Vocations Sunday
Next Sunday, Good Shepherd Sunday, is also Vocations Sunday, and a letter will be read out from Bishop Murray reminding us of the urgency to pray for an increase of vocations to the priesthood and the religious life. Many dioceses throughout the world are suffering because of lack of vocations. May we make this intention a regular one in our daily prayers
There will be a second collection next weekend to support our seminaries.
Anniversaries
We remember Alan Rogers in our prayers this weekend. Mass will be said for the repose of his soul in St. Joseph’s on his anniversary, April 10th., and also that God may comfort his loved ones.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord
100 Club
Many thanks to everyone who recently sent in their 100 Club membership. Our bank statement is now looking more healthy. We hope by late Spring, the price of oil will be reduced from 51p a litre.

My Vauxhall Astra passed the 100,000 miles mark during the week, and for the past seven years has given me faithful and reliable service— no trouble at all! It is only recently I have had to replace one or two minor items, otherwise it has been a wonderful car. The results of age are beginning to appear with patches of rust here and there, but these can be treated. The car has served the parish well allowing me to visit parishioners homes, schools, as far as Invergarry, the sick in hospital at Fort William and Raigmore, running errands of mercy—and also allowing me to have a day off. I hope to get many more miles from it yet until the sad day when it is unable to pass the MOT test and has to go into retirement!
We are all feeling the results of the cost of petrol and diesel nowadays, and we have to think twice before making a journey so that we can combine our shopping, appointments and other business.
Our chancellor is certainly not the darling of the rural people!
