The Church teaches that Mary was crowned by her Son Queen of heaven and earth because of her dignity and sinless perfection.
For us, death is the moment when the soul leaves the body, and goes into the presence of God. And there in heaven, it will behold the glory of God, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and take its place with
Our Lady and the vast army of angels and saints surrounding the throne of God.
On the last day, at the end of the world, our body will arise from its resting place and be joined to our soul in heaven, and then our happiness will be complete. The body is the instrument through which the soul acted throughout life, and because of the sacrifices it made,  all the good it did, it is only right that it too should enjoy in heaven the fruits of its good works.
This is why Paul tells the Corinthians that their bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit and it also explains why he insists so strongly that they must not defile their bodies through immoral behaviour. "He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit which dwells in you" [Rom. 8:11]

Our Lord has the final word on the resurrection of the body:
“He who believes in me, even though he dies, will live, and every living person who puts his faith in me will not suffer eternal death.”
The Ascension is indeed a great feast, and gives us the assurance of the resurrection of our own body at the end of time.

May it also encourage us to treat our body in accordance with God’s commandments, with a deep respect and reverence, for it is indeed the very temple of the Holy Spirit.
Mary, Queen of heaven
Feast Days of May.
May has always been the month that the Church devoted to honouring Mary. During this month, nature bursts into bloom, and new life comes back into the world after the deadness of winter.
It was Mary who brought new life into the world when she brought forth Christ our saviour. The theologians refer to her as the second Eve. The first Eve deprived the world of the grace of God., whereas Mary has helped to restore that life through Christ her Son, the second Adam.

May Altar
It used to be the custom that every house had a May altar in honour of Our Blessed Lady, around which the family would gather to say the rosary. In a world which is becoming ever more secular, it would be a great source of grace if this custom could be revived in our homes in the parish
