Rogation Days
The word “rogation” comes from a latin word meaning “to ask”. These were four days of prayer that started on the feast of St. Mark, when the litany of the saints was recited, and the Church asked God to bless the sowing of the crops, the work in the fields and all the farm animals.
A prayer to St. Mark was also included to ask his intercession

Prayer to St. Mark
Father, you gave Saint Mark the privilege of proclaiming your gospel. May we profit by his wisdom and follow Christ more faithfully. Grant through his intercession that the labour of  those who sow in the fields and work with animals may be blessed.
We ask this through Christ Our Lord. Amen

Anniversaries
We remember in our prayers this weekend:
Michael Toal, for whom the Vigil Mass was said on Saturday evening.

Chrissie MacKenzie, for whom mass will be said on Monday at 10 a.m.
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord.
Prayers
We remember in our prayers Titi Serafin that God may grant her renewed health and strength..

Tom MacKintosh continues to make good progress and should be home for good shortly. I usually see Tom on a Friday afternoon when I go to Fort William to collect the Bulletin from PrintSmith, and Tom gets the first copy just off the press. He was up at Bohuntine last Sunday inspecting his cattle and new calves, and it was good to see him striding along the road.

100 Club
Many thanks to parishioners, some new members,  who handed in their subscription last week to help boost the funds of the Club. Last month’s statement showed that the account was in credit to over £1,700, and it has increased again since then thanks to the new subscriptions.
I am grateful to Ishbel Campbell, our treasurer, for  how attentive she looks after the Club’s finances, and ensuring that the monthly winners all receive their prize money of £50 promptly.
