World Youth Rally in Sydney
The World Youth Day is the largest youth event in the world and will be held in Sydney 15-20 July 2008 (WYDSYD08) when up to 1 million young people will meet with the Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI. Around 2,000 young pilgrims and up to 20 Bishops will travel from England, Scotland and Wales to Australia this summer for a mixture of a pilgrimage, a cultural youth festival and a prayer rally.
who has offered her home and hospitality to them, and who will make sure that they are taken by car each day to the Rally and collected in the evening. The Sisters of St. Joseph will also be delighted to welcome them, especially with Deirdre coming from Blessed Mary’s home village, and with her MacKillop family roots—this will make her very special!
Deirdre MacDonald is representing our parish, one of the very few from our diocese who is making the pilgrimage.
I know that she, and her friend, Fiona, will receive a great welcome from Ann MacKeon, a native of Fort William,

Are you still throwing away your tax money?
There has been no response so far to our recent appeal for more parishioners who pay tax to sign a gift aid form. I ask you to consider seriously if you do pay tax and have not yet signed a form to contact me either after mass or by phone. All it requires is your signature, and you need do nothing else. You don’t have to sign the form each year—once is sufficient. The Inland Revenue is quite happy for us to reclaim from them a percentage of the tax you have already paid on your wage or salary.
Please, make up your mind to sign a gift aid form this weekend
Remember, it costs you nothing—and the parish gains so much!
