Anniversary
We remember in our prayers Donald MacDonald, husband of Liz MacDonald, whose anniversary is at this time. Mass was said for the repose of Donald's soul on Friday.
May his good soul rest in peace.

Deanery meeting
The Lochaber clergy have their Deanery meeting on Wednesday at St. Mary’s Chapel House, Fort William. The series of discussions we have been having  over the months are based on  on recent book suggesting  new approaches to evangelisation and ecumenism.

Welcome to the parish—Chris Josey.
Chris Josey, who has been teaching music in the Lochaber schools for some time, has been fortunate to lease a flat at Achaderry, and is now resident in the parish. Previously, he lived at Newtonmore, which  meant a long journey to work for Chris each day, so we are delighted to welcome him among us. Chris is no stranger to Roy Bridge, and we know  him for his magnificent voice, as he often sings with the choir in St. Margaret’s.
Chris is an Australian, and was formerly a member of the Sydney Opera company and is a professional singer. He has a wonderful
way with children, and is very popular in all the schools where he teaches, He has an immense amount of travelling to do,  and reaches as far south as  Kilchoan school. He also travels to Mallaig regularly as he has now taken charge of the local choir which is establishing a name for itself.
At the Lochaber Music Association’s concert, held at Onich last Christmas, we heard for the first time the result of Chris’s work with the children, when the newly-formed children's choir  from the  rural Lochaber schools  gave a wonderful performance which received a tremendous applause of appreciation from the audience. It is so good to know that the children in the rural primary schools have some one now to train their voices and help make music exciting for them.
Who knows what future Placido Domingos may be among Chris’s pupils! There are also  Billy Elliots in the world of singing  as in ballet,  just waiting for the  right person to  come along to help and encourage them make use of their hidden talents and to burst into song! And Chris is that person!

Prayer for Vocations to the Priestly and Religious Life
Lord Jesus Christ, Saviour of the world, show forth, we beseech Thee, in Thy Church the Holy Spirit with whose power the apostles were so abundantly filled. We thank Thee for the blessings bestowed upon the work of priests and religious; and we pray that Thou wilt add to the number of those who now pray, labour, and sacrifice themselves for Thy glory and the salvation of souls. Give them unselfish zeal for Thy glory. O good Jesus, give us more priests and religious after Thine own Heart! Amen.
